Like "Hey Jude", Rampton forces you to fall in love with it through sheer repetition. It's amazingly ballsy, and you submit happily to doom slavedom. Spin calls it "mind-altering"--guilty as charged.

The day when metalheads started to get artsy was a fine, fine day indeed. And look here- they cover a mofoing KILLDOZER song! KILLDOZER, the unwitting, unknowing damn godfathers of doom. So when is Twelve-Point Buck gonna be on emusic?
As there's a lack of other reviews here, I'll pitch in for the sake of potential purchasers. Rampton is overall a quite satisfying album by a Doom supergroup. Very similar to Sunn O)), but a bit more accessible with more recognizable "song" structures. The album's awesomely long tracks are both mesmerizing and enveloping. Despite the fact that there are vocals, this seems more of a doom ambient album to me than anything else. It also, for me, falls into the extremely small subgroup of metal that I can do work to. All in all, an interesting piece of work and well worth the meager 3 downloads.
