Exceptional
I've been exploring a lot of ambient music lately, including all the Inoue tracks that are here. This is the best CD I've found yet - I keep coming back to it. At one level it is beautiful, soothing, airy, yet there is also a great deal of complexity just beneath the surface, as if he's taken his more abstract 'bleepy' phase (Psycho-acoustic, Waterloo Terminal, etc)and his more dreamy ambient phase (Ambiant Otaku, 2350 Broadway etc) and melded them. Washes of expansive sound are speckled with tiny fragments of tone and rhythm in multiple layers. Needs good headphones to hear everything (bought some better ones and found entirely new sounds). Hard to say in words what's so good about this, but it is very beautiful and profound and always leaves me feeling more hopeful. This has earned a permanent place in my collection. Near perfect.
