A masterpiece with more
The star-crossed career of Mike Peters and The Alarm has resulted in some disappointments. Of course, it's awfully hard to top this effort. This would be well worth downloading just for the bonus tracks.

You just can't beat the hooks and melodies on this record. Yes I said record, because that's what they used to be kiddies! This is the one that makes you want to start a band, quit your job, buy a van, and go on tour!!!
Great Lyrics, with good religious symbolism.
I've been a fan of The Alarm since 1982 or so, when the video for "The Stand" was getting moderate airplay. The energetic yet primarily acoustic (!) stylings of Mike Peters and company have appealed to me for 25+ years. Although often described as a "poor man's U2", this reputation is undeserved. The Alarm are a very worthwhile listen in their own right. Good to see the remasters on eMusic - now I can cancel that trip to the UK to pick these up!
back in the day...i was an alarm groupie...toured with them...etc....my vinyl albums were worn out and memories had faded....thanks emusic for bringing these sweet guys back to my music collection
