Songs from 30 years in rock and roll revisited!
Celebrating 30 years in rock and roll Welsh band The Alarm, lead by Mike Peters re-record a number of songs that span their career but which only the more committed fan will be familiar. Highlights include the early live favourite from circa 1984 'Unbreak the Promise', 'How the mighty fall' a oft overlooked album track that wears its Dylan influence proudly (and contains prehaps one of Peters best observational lyrics?). The classic 'accoustic punk' Alarm sound is much in evidence including some soaring harmonica. 'Only the Thunder' is prehaps the outstanding track, recorded much closer to its stirring live rendition, answering critics who say Peters struggles to capture in the studio the sound and passionate fury of his bands live performances.
