The Apartments's music is some of the most achingly beautiful I have encountered anywhere in rock/pop music. Coupled with singer Peter Milton-Walsh's poignant, intelligent voice and lyrics, it will take you on an emotional roller-coaster every time. I have listened to it many times, and it still gets to me.
Peter Milton Walsh here again combines pure melody and wonderfully subtle arrangements with lyrics that dwell, without a trace of self-pity or sentimentality, upon profound disillusionment and pointed self-loathing. Don't be put off by this - it's all done with such sophistication that the sheer artistry is completely exhilarating. Indispensible, as is anything the Apartments ever did.
