This West Coast vocal group was tabbed in some circles as the inheritor of The Jackson 5/New Edition kiddie-pop mantle in the late ’80s. They never came close, although there are some good R&B/bubblegum tunes on this ’88 Motown debut. It was smoothly produced by the L.A. and Babyface team, and the single “Dial My Heart” was a substantial urban contemporary hit. – Ron Wynn
