greatest band discovery

jamie324

Went to see the local bands downtown Detroit and was totally drawn into a new sound that I just fell in love with. They call it Modern Jazz. It is the kind of music that is enjoyed when hearing for the first time and even better after hearing them over and over. They produce songs that are instantly enjoyed and band members show how much they enjoy playing the songs every time played.

Super Funky Rock Jams!

SnoopTrog

The Bothers Groove rock 100%, no doubt about it. Jim Simonson locks his funky bass lines down with super-glue, he's off the hook with his crazy wah fx. All the tracks on this album flow so well together and within each other with Chris Codish's superbly brilliant organ music and writing. "Everywhere We Go" has a solid rhythm track with a burning organ melody racing over the top. "Downtown" moves smoothly with it's easy organ over the almost constant 16th note subdivision on the drums. "The Hyper Song" is just that, really hyper and sure to get you JUMPIN'! They're the best live band in Detroit and one of my favorite bands along with Zappa, Beck, and Ben Harper. Get this album and go check them out live if you can, because as The Brothers Groove say "THE REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE TELEVISED!" It isn't and it won't be televised, but you can find the revolution right here.
