Love It

I didn't love every track but I agree it's definitely worth it for Lisa's tracks. What's funny is that the more I play it the more I enjoy it. Definitely worth downloading.

Fantastic Collaborative Record

woodland_bear

The main thing to remember here is that The Cake Sale is a collaborative work. So the reviewer who told Damien Rice to 'go Fu&* himself' because Lisa Hannigan's songs are beautiful should take note that her song 'Needles' is actually written by Rice. Every song present here is near flawless. Particularly of note are the Hansard-penned 'All The Way Down', sung by Gemma Hayes, which the writer himself resurrected for the 2007 film 'Once'. M particular favourites are Last Leaf, Some Surprise and the subtly Bush-baiting 'Aliens', sung by a typically haunting Neil Hannon of The Divine Comedy.

GREAT

some great tracks - but worth it for Lisa alone - she should be doing loads of solo work - Josh Ritter is OK buy the album worthwhile cause:~)

Worth the buy

First off Damien Rice can go Fu&* himself. Lisa's songs are beautiful. Aliens is amazing as well. Get it while you can:)

Great album, great cause

This charity album features a bunch of standout tracks. The highlight for me is "Some Surprise," a sweet, romantic ballad. Other highlights: "Aliens" and "Good Intentions Rust." The tracks from Hansard (of the Frames) and Ritter are, surprisingly, the weakest here, so listen before downloading.
