Alone and Unreal
The only thing wrong with this compilation is what it may portend: is this the end of the Clientele? Is this intended as a capstone? I surely hope not. I don't have this particular album, but I have most of the songs represented here, and if what you want is simply a summary of their best work, this collection achieves that end. However, as is the case with many bands, this will hopefully merely be an entry, an appetizer that motivates you to dig deeper into their back catalog and discover their full albums. Also worth investigating is Amor de Dias, the Clientele's vocalist Alastair MacLean's most recent project. It was seeing them co-headline with Damon & Naomi that led me to the Clientele.
