"hooked on the drifters"

bill_bohrer

I agree with the second reviewer, the drum machine really ruins the beautiful vocals - this album reminds me of and electronic age version all those disco "hooked on xxxxxx" atrocities commited in the late 70s to try and turn that generation on to music other than disco. Who remembers "hooked on Beethoven"? Only in PTSD flashbacks! It makes this whole album sound like some k-tel reduction of a once-great band. And it's so sad because the vocals are really *sweet*.

The Drifters Up On The Roof

rocket_68

Us "BOOMERS" that are starved for good ol'time Rocken'Roll will realy enjoy this collection reguardless of a drum machine. All the songs have been remastered and sound better than ever. Drifter Fans...don't worry about any old drum Machine...Just enjoy the experience!

Drum machine ruins it

Garbo

I can deal with re-recordings, and the vocals are good on these tracks, but they used a drum machine instead of a live drummer. I can't enjoy this recording because of that.
