Simple (or simply stupid) Economics?

STANDOFF

9 songs @ $0.49 would (Normally) = $4.41. The last song (?) ",[laughter]," stupid sample & "Album Only" Brings it up to $5.99. Is it worth 3+ extra downloads to get the album?

One of D.C Hardcore's finest...

TreActivity

Incredibly fast (my only complaint is how short the experience lasts) melodic and powerful, this is an amazing album by a band too often overlooked. Alec may not have the commanding presence of his big brother Ian but he's more than capable. It's easy to see how D.C.'s punk scene really changed the direction of alternative music in the 80's. Excellent.

Thanks Dischord!

TDK

Thankfully Dischord is putting their entire catalog on eMusic. This is one of the great punk albums from DC in the mid-80s and was difficult to find for a long time. Terrific music, well worth the 5 minutes it will take to download it!

They Say All Music Guide

For the band’s only other release, Edward Janney added some second guitar; otherwise it was hot-wired classic hardcore outrage and self-questioning as before. Don Zientara once again handled the recording, with Hanson’s drumming sounding both stronger and also a touch more accomplished than before. Bass and guitar seemed to have switched positions of prominence in the mix, with Hampton’s crunch a touch more subtle in the mix and Bald’s own crisp work more directly audible. It makes for a calm but interesting contrast; in combination with the fine if not especially original songs, the result is more prime hardcore. Mackaye still screams with passion but also has a little more open ache slipping through here and there, which goes well with the lyrics of songs like “Limitations” and the combination of reflection and call to action in the especially inspiring title track. It all makes for a fine way for this solid band to be remembered. – Ned Raggett
