Jesus Entering Through The Rear

Dvoodoo

The Feederz art damaged sound and psyche more or less boils down to the product of the fiendishly fertile mind of their front man known as Frank Discussion. While other 80's hardcore bands often mined a doltish musical path, and seemed stuck in a white trashy violence prone scene, the Feederz aimed higher and lower at the same time. Their sound could perhaps fall somewhere between a mixture of the dark humor of early Brian Eno meeting the aggression of The Effigies. The Feederz publicity stunts were often better than the music, and the band certainly knew how to draw negative attention, and feed masterfully off of that. One infamous gig at Berkeley's 924 Gilman St Project received national media attention when dumpster dived dead puppies were tossed into the audience. The definitive must have punk classic Feederz song to grab for your next mixtape/cd compilation is labeled only as "Jesus" and if you seek sinister sonic salvation don't leave this page without it.

It's "Feederz".

This band is actually called "Feederz". There's no "The" involved. So there. By the way, this is one of the best punk records ever: savage, hilarious, smart as you like, and wide-awake. Individualistic and absolutely memorable. At the first some of the songs & lyrics may sound overly nasty or bitter but I think these guys were trying to get the attention of what they saw as an apathetic, complacent audience. Either that or they were simply hateful pricks. Maybe a bit of both. The original vinyl version of this record came with black fine-sandpaper down the side so it screwed up the record it was next to. Genius! Download tracks 1, 8 & 9 for a primer.
