R.I.P. Rob Grill (1943-2011) Let's Live For Today

Dvoodoo

the original vocalist & bassist kept the name & a band touring for many years after the original 60's & early 70's lineups dissolved. This is a recording from those latter years of his career, which saw him performing Grass Roots hits with a newer steady lineup that actually lasted way longer than the original group. He kept going for close to 45 years after the formation of The Grass Roots, whose original LP and hits were produced by Steve Barri for on ABC/Dunhill beginning in 1967. Rob, one of rock's most memorable voices, hit the Billboard Hot 100 29 times with The Grass Roots, and the initial group released a final original LP in 1975. Rob released a solo album in 1979 called Uprooted and eventually resumed activity under the Grass Roots name in the early 1980's. He died unexpectedly in July 2011 after suffering a stroke in an Orlando FL where he was living with wife Nancy.

I'm not as liberal...

This album does no justice to the group I listened to back when. Glad I never saw them in concert.

Good Album

If you like The Grass Roots, this download should not disappoint, but keep in mind that it is live. While I believe this is a newer recording, the lead singer sounds original. Not bad overall.
