Great overlooked early 70s roots music!
This is actually a compilation of the Grease Band's first and only two albums, the eponymous 1971 album and Amazing Grease from 1975. It's wonderful rootsy music that you'd call Americana if these guys weren't from the UK. It's very similar in style and quality to the music The Band was making at the same time, though the songwriting isn't quite as sharp as Robbie Robertson's (but whose is?). If you like The Band, Son Volt, Wilco, or any of the current crop of alt.country musicians you owe it to yourself to give this a listen.
