Rubbish
Just about everything here are re-recordings and NOT the originals. eMusic you should stop us wasting downloads on this stuff. You should clearly let us know that these are NOT original recordings.

The junk: the tracks by Santo & Johnny as noted, are poor imitations of the originals; the Bill Black combo tracks (Don Rondo had the White Silver Sands hit) and a few others. But there is plenty of good stuff from Bill Justis, Duane Eddy, Johnny and the Hurricanes, Ventures, Bill Doggett (although I think these are re-recordings of Honky Tonk) and others to make this a good buy if you are into this music.
I sampled half a dozen or so and I'm not hearing any originals at all. I don't think K-Tel breeds originals. Write me if you want to hear the originals I'm old enough to know what they should sound like and these are not those. RB
In your list of "original originals" don't leave off drummer Sandy Nelson (a fave of my big sister) or Dave "Baby" Cortez. Yes, Cortez has two Booker T & the MG covers here, but his "The Happy Organ" and "Rinky Dink" are the real thing.
Yeah BigD, at last, some original versions! It took me just over a week to find them. Too bad I had to slog through so many 3rd rate tracks to find a few originals ;-(
Well, I'll be hornswaggled - a collection with some real original instrumentals - take note whiners who say they exist not on eMusic - Chantays, Bill Doggett, Duane Eddy, Johnny and the Hurricanes, Bill Justis, Lonnie Mack, Mar-Keys, Marketts, (oops, NOT the original Sleepwalk,go to Santo and Johnny Vol.I Sleepwalk), and Ventures. Dig in. Shout out to Capt.Russ - this is why I trouble to point them out when I find them, to save others the time (and annoyance), and likewise I appreciate it when others do the same. Ain't nothing like the real thing.
