Cardova Listed with Different Title

Chug Chug Chug-A-Lug is actually Cardova. Don't know why the title was changed.

where is 'cardova' on the album?

contrario

Cardova was one of the baddest grooves on the original release. I notice all the other tracks are here. It seems that said track was replaced by track three.

Pure funk

mr. mark

In their early days (on Josie Records), the Meters (featuring Art Neville of the Neville Bros) played pure funk music, instrumentals with heavy basslines and syncopation, as influenced by James Brown and Sly Stone. Their first album features the hits Cissy Strut and Sophisticated Cissy. Later releases on the major labels edged more toward mainstream soul, with vocals. If you dig today's Daptone artists like the Dap Kings and the Budos Band-you'll love this!
