Defacto Pop-punk
I stumbled upon the Ill at Ease album back in 2001, and while I wasn't thoroughly impressed, I couldn't deny that there was a hook, albeit within the same 4 or 5 chords that each some seemed to be composed of. I'd say that each subsequent album has been evolutionary, not revolutionary, but I've been more and more impressed by each release. This Won't Hurt again seems to mark the height of the Methadone's talent. It's kind of like listening to a kid grow into an adult. This album is straightforward, melodic, catchy and never delves deep into political pontificating or any sort of current events. Leave that to Jello. This album is exactly what I expected.
