Ohio College Rock Staple

Altedge

The vinyl OG release of these records were in solid rotation of our dorm room I at Miami U. from about 86-88, and then some. Really solid indy rock from the mistake by the lake, that stands the test of time. It's a little time capsuley, but if you want to know what it was all about, download this bargain gem.

it's OK

Chonky

Reading the reviews, I hoped for more. It's decent, earnest 80's guitar pop, but kind of one dimensional. I dunno, see what you think. I wanted to love it, believe me, as I really like the group's leader Bill Fox's record "Shelter from The Smoke."

One of the best

If you think GBV are great then get this, truly one of the best records to ever come out of the midwest. God bless, Billy Fox.

The Mice

EMUSIC-00A69E2E

I first discovered this album at Riot 101 in Cleveland. Since then I have listened to a tape of this for more than 10 years. To say the Mice are great is like saying water is wet or air is necessary. The Mice are what every power-pop band aspires to be, even if they have never heard the Mice. This is the must have album on Emusic. This is genius that will haunt you and follow you making you wonder why you thought "Let It Be" was so good. This is the real deal and no one knows. That makes it all the better. The rage and harmony in this record are remarkable. This is what punk rock and hardcore is supposed to be music that kids and parents love - that is so pure with the belief that punk cures all that ails you. This is worth 16 tracks to download. Just listen to track 3. Forever.

Mindblowing

To think this album has been around since the mid 80's. Thanks for getting The Scat catalog. This is a GEM. huge influence on Robert Pollard. Great indie pop album. It hasn't aged a bit, in fact, it sounds more current now than it did then. Kudos Bill Fox.

AMAZING

HallwaysOnLock

I LOVE THIS ALBUM. Fans of The Replacements, The Nerves [70s], power-pop: download this. Or just try out "Bye Bye Kitty Cat," "Not Proud of the USA," "Little Rage." Fantastic.
