I think Lou would understand

SelfRisinMojo

Combines the raw, manic delivery of Mojo Nixon with the quirky, misleading simplicity of the Modern Lovers as seen by a wailing crossbreed of Col. Bruce Hampton and Roky Erickson. The old Lou Reed may be the daddy of the celebration of rock and roll but these illegitimate offspring sound as if their lives were saved by it.

It's only a name

4x8

Come on, it's just a name, it's cocky, it's rock n roll, get over it. How many people are actually going to even hear their music? It got your and my attention and it's great stuff. Give them credit for having great influences.

Indeed?

It take some mighty big stones to name your band "The New Lou Reeds". Even if there is supposed to be some kind of irony to this, it's still idiotic. Before you christen yourself with such a moniker, you had better be sure you're at LEAST delivering music that is breaking new ground in some fashion, because LOU is a pioneer of the highest caliber. These jokers just aren't. New Lou Reeds.... New Coke.... both equally disappointing. Go get "Coney Island Baby", if you want to hear some OLD Lou Reed.

Better than you think ...

ReMoeTheFirst

Hometown Hero and Brighton Beach are good tracks ... very good actually. Animals and Stones influences. Worth a listen.
