Terrible sound

Clicks, hissing, no high frequencies...terrible.

This is without a doubt the worst recording, by one of my all-time favorite conductors. The recording is so bad it is impossible to get any clear idea of the performance itself. It in no way compares to his 1966-67 recording. The tympani in the 2nd mvt sound like they were surrounded with metal enclosures. The recording has skips, missed notes and overall sounds terrible. Past Classics did a horrible job with this one.
