if you like the spree then you will like this album. its that simple. and for all the fans of tripping daisy out there they did a wonderful job covering sonic bloom. but i still only like the version of lithium when it is live.

Cherry pick from this one

boatofcar

The original tracks on this EP are some of the band's best to date. However, the Nirvana cover is pretty bland and Sonic Boom is a lot better on the (sadly out of print) Tripping Daisy album "Jesus Hits Like the Atom Bomb."

Meh.

The Nirvana cover sounds like something off a "Kidz Bop" cd.

Welcome back Spree!

sigemund

I first heard about The Polyphonic Spree in 2003, and was lucky enough to see them open for David Bowie. It was incredible - seeing this band is an experience! I picked up the first album ("The Beginning Stages Of"), with the "Light and Day" EP, and loved it. Once "Together We're Heavy" was released, I picked that up, and it was great. Then I sort of forgot about The Polyphonic Spree until about a month ago, when I checked them out here on eMusic, and what do you know, the new "Wait" EP is here. I've listened to it four times, and I just can't get enough. IMO, it's the best stuff the band has done since the "Light and Day" EP. "I'm Calling" is the runaway track on this album - it may be the Spree's best song since "Light and Day". If you're a fan of upbeat, happy, positive music, I recommend checking this EP out. You should love what you hear. It's so great to see The Polyphonic Spree back, and if this EP is any indication, the next album ("The Fragile Army") will be incredible.

I've been wanting this for a while but not sure where else to get it but itunes, and I'd rather not buy it there. Way to be emusic! You're wonderful selection has just increased in greatness!

This group is a little too sappy for me, but...

Wanderer

...they do what they do with gusto and songs #1 and #3 are great examples of what they do best. The Nirvana cover isn't too bad either.
