What a great surprise

EMUSIC-0287BD21

I wasn't really looking for this album, but the memories associated with it are many. I don't usually pick more than one or two cuts from an album. I downloaded almost all of this one. It truly is timeless bluesy, jazzy, rockish. All those things from the '60's that were good in music.

Wears time well...

This was THE party album of my wonder years. I'm surprised at the number of top notch jazz musicians playing on these cuts; I had no idea! Unlike many favorites from the past, these songs still sound great at face value, not just as nostalgia.

And what a live band they were: Felix on B-3 organ (played bass with bass pedals), a guitarist (Gene, just okay), and maybe the best rock drummer ever in Dino Danelli. Lets not forget Eddie, singer and percussionist, and general "babe magnet". This album is a great collection which still holds up.

The Groups of Girl

By Lenny Kaye, eMusic Contributor

It was a moment of perfect chanteusic convergence: These songs and those who sang them, those who produced them and, most important, those who would hear them late at night on a car radio where there was only the AM dial to light the lover's lane. Three wishes of attraction, infatuation and eternal belief in the power of adoration to conquer all, captured in the three minutes of the classic pop single. A soaring chorus, a… more »

Arguably the greatest greatest-hits album of the ’60s. A White-soul classic. – Bruce Eder
