The producers of Grey's Anatomy have a good ear for new singer-songwriters. They've given a boost to more than a few talented but obscure bands and now, with the show's April 24th episode, they've thrown the spotlight on one more. The Rescues' "Break Me Out" was the tune chosen for the last few minutes of the episode but the whole "Crazy Ever After" CD is solid, well-crafted pop, and in fact has already been tapped for tunes used in previous Grey's episodes. Good for eMusic for having it in your catalogue...but now you might want to play it up a bit!
If you like the sound of Sugarland but find them a little commercial, try The Rescues. All the songs are good but "I Miss Missing You" is the most epic.
This group has a sort of alt-country sound. Their voices blend extremely well with amazing harmonies. My favorite track is the title track, but it won't take much for the rest of the songs to grow on me.
