BY ALL MEANS, BUY THIS NOW

The Tiger Lilies are brilliant - Live they will amaze you. Anyone focusing on Martyn's voice as a reason not to like this, to label it "unlistenable" is to begin with, someone who obviously DID NOT LISTEN TO THE SAMPLES! Also, undoubtably does not know what a Countertenor is; Is ignorant of the British Pantomime or American Vaudeville Traditions (not to mention French Grand Guignol, thrown in for good measure) as well as the Voice of the American carny huckster. Call it an "acquired taste" to be polite. I'll already be enjoying it!

Ponits well missed

I can't type, but "POINTS Well Missed" is what I meant. I freely admit the Tiger Lillies are an acquired taste (to say the least), but: A) The Lead singer is Martyn Jacques, NOT Scott-freaking-Walker! B) A falsetto voice is not Tiny Tim's sole posession. I'd say Martyn's voice reminds me more of Klaus Nomi, actually. C) When I consider how disturbing, nightmare-inducing the subject matter of the Tiger Lillies' songs can be, the voice would be my last complaint. At times, his voice is absolutely stunning. Check out "Alone With the Moon" from "From the Brothel to the Cementery" -- you can catch the video on YouTube.

Oops, sorry you missed the point

Scott's voice is certainly peculiar, and a treat for those who like it, mabye instead of listening to reviews, one should listen to the SAMPLES. That way one can use one's own brain. One man's meat is anothers poison.

Do not buy

beware the reviews Don't be mistaken. The vocals make this unlistenable. The reviews were great and I got suckered in and had my worst month ever on emusic. Scott Walker sings like Tiny Tim. No shoot.
