Not a Flaw
Is not a flaw, that instrument that sounds like "an oversized kazoo" is absolutely vital to this recording. They're Shawms, pretty certain that the first track is using a Taborshawm but I'm not expert, I just enjoy late medieval and Renaissance music. the York Waits are one of the finest group of musicians performing this period of music and its pretty authentic. Much of the music you see in Hollywood films set in the middleages is far from authentic. If you don't like the "oversized kazoo" then i'd suggest the European medieval music isn't for you.
