One of my ALL Time Favorite Artists
I will never tire of this album. It's wonderful throughout. Gorgeous vocals and melodies. Kate delivers. Thank you for making music :)
Rich & Lovely
Deceptively simple, beautifully textured songs complete with an occasional good lyrical gut punch. It's a gorgeous album, top to bottom.
My Favorite.
This, I believe, is the only album from which I've taken every single track. Her dynamic and alluring vocals coupled with the rhythmic guitar create a very fluid and complete sound. Perfect if you like this kind of soft, elegant stuff. She's my siren.
Spare, beautiful, with an emotional wallop
Kate has wonderful voice - perfectly English and perfectly unaffected - and her songs are so simple, but richly emotive. I love this! My favourite of the year. Oh, and John Parish helps Kate to achieve a wonderful guitar sound, most especially on Shared Out.
Unique and lovely
I'm surprised no one else has left a review on this CD. I really love it, and considerate it one of the best CDs I've come across in a long time. Kate Stables' voice, lyrics, and playing are all so charming that after many repeated listenings I have not tired of the CD, and only find her more alluring. The instrumentation is varied enough to keep things interesting, but it all binds together into a wonderfully flowing and haunting work.
