Utterly bonkers, utterly genius
Inspired by the likes of The Melvins, Frank Zappa and Isis, Thumpermonkey Lives! have broken through the nonsense door on the safe buried under the cellar of the locked house with the sign outside saying “There’s No Way That Can Be Pulled Off In Music”, and shat in Mr Nonsense’s shoes. And his hat. And then pulled off what seemingly anti-gravity feat of utter sonic insanity was being debated in the first place. This is a truly remarkable record. It’s not for the faint hearted – don’t even attempt it unless you’ve had a hearty breakfast of Genesis with a side order of King Crimson, and been snacking on Primus and Tool all morning.
