Behind the parade, but ahead of the pack...
Tommy Keene's 4th release in the 21st century finds the jangle and the power are not only still there, but perhaps with more spark than his brilliant scintillating releases of the 80s. The opening track \"Deep Six Saturday\" is a hook laden rock track that brings to mind the psychedelic pop days of The Who with it's swirling guitars and horn parts. The rest of the album is laden chiming hooks and Keene's emotionally resonant voice who's vulnerability is contrasted by the sinewy tintinnabulation of a potent rock band delivered with a masterful balance of restraint and raw power. Keene's new album is a prime example of a 5-star-ticker-tape- parade celebration of power pop.
