There are signs of promise here but it's often more style than substance. For one, just about every song has gimmicky volume knob turning on certain instruments/tracks, so it's like somebody's messing with the volume knob as you're trying to listen. Which I find distracting and annoying.
I love this sound. Very complex but not helter skelter like some. Exquisite music for listening anytime. I heard Toro y Moi will be touring with Phoenix soon.
