California 37- A brilliant album
I think this album is fantastic. It hits back on some of Trains roots while moving forward and incorporating new styles and brilliantly happy ideas. I am ecstatic about this album because I was severely disappointed in Trains lackluster album Save me San Francisco. Their last album had two or 3 good songs and whereas this album showcased their music writing genius as well as their ability to grow as musicians. Bruises is one such example of their monumental growth, a crossover piece is generally met with much criticism and I think its just something you have to deal with in the music business. I was truly pleased by this album and have listened to it continuously for the past 7 months without boredom, the music and lyrics continue to surprise me. Great job Train!
What the Hell Happened to Train? Fame.
What happened to the local band I knew in SF? This shows the worst of what fame and mfg music do to music these days. Used to just love them but they are lost with this one.

I guess that is why music is so great. I absolutely love this album. Asking Ashley Monroe to be a guest on Bruises is just brilliant and beautiful. You Finally Get To Meet My Mom is just a great song...period. In fact I think this over all is a great album. I have no idea how it will play on the charts but if you like Train you should really like this album. I started picking and choosing songs one by one and then just downloaded the whole album. Nice going Pat and band!
what a disapointment
...actually... it kinda sucked. Pains me to say it too because I really, really adored them from their first CD ... but this time it feels like they were either trying too hard, or need to go back to writing their own stuff completely.
