Q is a Weirdo

boomer-phl03

Purveyor of waver-influenced crunch rockpop, Q of Uberzone reappears back onto the elektrodance scene. Ideology runs better than Faith in the Future, building on the work from that "era", combing in more of the growth of the nu-skool genre. It's a good transition, but it's been around a decade since the last release - so I was expecting a little more bang in this release. But the moments are strong on the album, with opener "Okay", seriousuberflavor of "Vibrate", and the recall of the 'freaky' treat "Satisfaction".

Puts the 'tronic in Electronic Music

Ironhand

Uberzone still has "it", whatever it is. What seems silly at first has this inexplicable tendency to make you start poppin' and breakin' as your friends watch in embarrassment, and you don't care -- the beats and breaks have taken over. In addition to classic Uberzone beats like Satisfaction (extended version on the EP), Funny Noise, and 4 bit, you'll find some quality downtempo in tracks like Ideology, M87 and Black Hole. And check out uberzone.com for a taste of previous works. WIN!

Cool Breaks

ibirlem

I'd never heard of them, but they're coming to Baltimore in June 08 for the Starscape festival. Good breaks. Nice hard bass heavy sound.
