The Power and the Passion...

claasicalover

Although the violin concerto was obviously written in the 20th century it is, after all is said and done, a very personal "from the soul" and "romantic era" kind of work. All the melodies are tonal and very personal as well as very beautiful! I first heard it at 16 with Stern but this violinist is in love with this work and his virtuosity and BEAUTIFUL sound make every bar of music a new and wonderful experience. The violin is "close miked" which serves it well... you want to hear every intonation and inflection. Words simply cannot tell you.... The orchestral sound is clean, smooth and bright...all the orchestral detail comes through vividly. This is a MUST HAVE, easily worth more than retail! I was unfamiliar with the Rhapsody but it is very haunting and I am sure I will grow to love it. This "album" is a must hear!
