Integrating its influences into a singular sound

Recordings and influences from a half dozen cultures figure into this Bristol project's upbeat, generally cheerful transcontinental groove. Though you'll hear whistles from South America next to North African percussion next to the scratchy guitars of U.S. funk on tracks like "Bicycles, Flutes and You," "An African Friendship" and "The Hand of Contraband," the band integrates its influences into a singular sound and binds it together with finely cut breaks.
