Cool Groove

I'm always on the hunt for extra-ordinary atmosphere music. This certainly fills the bill. Like a tall cool drink in an ultra-suede lounge. Smooth!!!

Breakbeats and kitsch

djFLWB

I'm a bit stingy when it comes to ratings and normally an album with this much filler would get a 3 star rating from me but put it all together and it's a 4. If you enjoy your breaks with a kitschy twist then Ursula 1000 won't disappoint. (For fans of Pizzicato 5, Gabin, Dmitri From Paris, Wise Guys, Torpedo Boyz, etc)

Wow

All I have to say is WOW. Finally a breathe of fresh air than all the "typical" music. This is unique, fresh, up beat, "ALIVE". I'm really enjoying this group. Thank you Emusic!!

And I am so glad. Fun music - this is not complaint rock! Kinda' Kinky was a daily download, and check out their newest album, too.

Very Upbeat Reto Bossa Fun CD

NiteOwl

Swinging retro bossa that makes you feel alive. Just put it on and try not wanting to dance or sing along.

They Say All Music Guide

Loungecore DJ/producer Ursula 1000 fashions himself the post-millennial Esquivel, populating his second production album with 14 groovy, pleasant, slightly hip throwaways that leave few stylistic stones unturned in their quest for attention. “Beatbox Cha Cha” merges Rob Base and PĂ©rez Prado, with a little finesse and a pumping bridge, while the opening title track makes its bid for Austin Powers-style immortality with an infectious little mover featuring all the requisite touches: go-go bassline, female vocalist, sleazy guitar, and swirling Hammond organ (the latter comes courtesy of Combustible Edison’s Brother Cleve). Alex Gimeno, the man behind Ursula 1000, certainly knows his musical history; he’s able to quote styles ranging from bossa nova to Bollywood to blaxploitation to breakbeat hip-hop. It’s not especially subtle, but Kinda’ Kinky is well produced and certainly fun. – John Bush
