bplonline

No one of a serious classical mind would call this GREAT music. But it is GOOD music. Second rate Tchaikovsky is often better than much of what was written during the Romantic period in Russia. I am very thankful that Gergiev's performances on the Mariinsky label are so easily available on eMusic. Highly recommended if you like Tchaikovsky, if you like full blooded choral/vocal music, or if you like exploring off the beaten path.
