A O K By me

sky1031

Just because a song doesn't sound like the 45 vinyl you had as a kid does not mean that the song you down load from here is not the real artist. I enjoyed the downlads that I chose.

It is the record company

RockinDaddio

that should be held responsible for the artists listed on the album. We know there are tons of remakes and knock-offs out there. Buyer Beware!

To all you reviewers out there that say emusic is for independent groups and not mainstream, I say this, if that is the case then why don’t they add a simple line on each track that says: “performed by:” so we don’t have to guess or preview in the first place, if they are for independent artists fine, but don’t try to fake main stream original songs. The reason they don’t add this simple clarification is because they would be gone in a week if they stated “Stairway to Heaven” artist: Lead Zeppelin , preformed by: “Ally’s Twilight Garage Band”

A possible explanation

Moodie-1

Well, I've listened to quite a few of the tracks on this album (and other Goldenlane / The Orchard albums) on this site and no, the songs are definetly NOT the original hit versions. Even so, however, some of them do sound quite good, almost as good as the hit versions. It's also easy to tell that the original singers/groups were used to record them, probably at about the same time as the hit versions. So the only reasonable explanation is that these are alternate versions recorded at the same time as the hit versions and were used to fine-tune the songs prior to making the final versions. So these really can be considered as 'originals' in their own right, they're just not the versions that were eventually released to the public. I've encountered this many times before, with many minor-label compilations. The only solution is to stick with the biggest labels. And even then you can get screwed once in a while. I have.

I feel ripped off

greg30307

I feel ripped off. I downloaded several of these before realizing almost none of these are the originals. And I could not always tell from the 30 sec preview since I have had heard these for years and years.

My 2 cents

EclecticOak

I downloaded "Brown Eyed Girl". It is spooky how close it is, but it is definitely not the original and not Van Morrison. Good imitation but eMusic should be very clear about what this is!!

I call these the "Nursing Home" recordings

Dintym

These are mostly remakes after the voice has failed and original members are no longer alive/available. It might sound horrible to some, but these artists have their oxygen taken away until they agree to make these terrible remakes.

terrible mixes

None of these are originals, and one is worse than the next. This is by far the worst music site I have ever had the misfortune to visit.
