i don't think it's emusic that is guilty of stocking re-recordings.i've noticed that original versions of most of the 80's stuff is very hard to find,even in the stores.i find cd's at walmart all the time that state on the front of the cd's thet the songs are re-recorded by the original artists or will say "new recordings"by the artists that mede them famous.wondre why original versions of 80's stuff is so hard to find(copyright issues maybe?)it's easier to find an original entire cd done by an 80's artist than a various artist cd with all original versions

Live versions and alternate takes

A few of these sounds pretty close to the studio releases (Tiffany, for example), but the rest, buyer beware. Not to say that they stink, but these are either alternate takes or live performances of the original artists.

Original artists, but all their beards are gray and their voices an octave lower! Really, the biggest problem is the arrangements are almost all different. Caveat Emptor!

I go through this battle with so many albums like this on this site. I can never tell if they are really accurate covers or originals that just sound odd on the computer. Or a mix of the two.

This site truly does suck. I'm trying hard to find my 25 free downloads before I cancel. But, the song I downloaded from this album-Polecats "Make a Circuit with Me" sounds like I remember it but it has been 20 years since I've heard it. I'm glad I didn't pay to join this site. I think I'll be able to get 25 good songs though.
