Sisters of Mercy--now on Emusic

Grizzabella

One of my favorite bands of all time. The complete catalog isn't available on emusic, but they do have a good selection. The rest you will have to search online imports stores and amazon has some mp3s that emusic doesn't have. NJOY

Note To Self...

NotToBeMeanOrAnythingBut...

Download! What a great find. These are all covers, as the Album title suggests. To clarify, "goth" was called "goth" not long after it existed, but in the US (or parts of it?), it was called "deathrock". It was also known as post-punk, or "positive punk" (reference: Siouxsie and the Banshees- great band). Call it what you will, it is awesome music. Well worth the listen, though I'd rather have the originals.

Why no originals?

Chomskyite

I downloaded a couple of tracks, only because the original versions by SoM aren't available. By the way, when this music came out, there was no such thing as "goth." It was called "deathrock," and SoM wasn't even really included in that group of artists. They had some awesome songs, and a lot of crap. I'd like to be able to get "Alice," "First And Last And Always," and a couple other earlier tracks by them. I guess it's a licensing issue. That just sucks. I'll just have to listen to these versions and hope for the best.

Some good

BloodStar

There is actually some v.good goth tracks here from: Wake and Rosetta Stone, but I would love it if eMusic put up real 'Sisters of Mercy' music.
