Versaemerge’s 2010 debut album, Fixed at Zero, finds the Florida rock outfit delivering a collection of driving and passionate emo-pop/rock. Featuring the vocals of Sierra Kusterbeck, Versaemerge will certainly draw some quick comparisons to such female-fronted contemporaries as Paramore and Evanescence. In that sense, such songs as “Figure It Out,” “Stranger,” “Your Own Lov.e.,” and “Mythology” reveal the band’s knack for yearning and powerful rock numbers. Similarly, the album’s title track and “Fire,” featuring added male vocals, are ear-grabbing numbers that should appeal to fans of anthemic modern rock. – Matt Collar
