I really liked "Tight Knit", so I really anticipated this one. It really didn't hook me right away, but I really started to enjoy it and crave it after several listens. It's quite different than thier past works - perhaps less dreamy, and more euphoric and upbeat (?)- but still Vetiver through and through. Andy Cabic has one of the most soul-soothing voices out there.

I was pleasantly surprised at first listen, and then couldn't stop listening to it the first week after DL'ing. I love the mix of acoustic guitars and analog synthesizers, textures, and nonchalant melodies. Great summer album for 2011!

Strong Work

Over the past months I've really been sinking into the previous Vetiver albums and eagerly awaiting this one. After a number of listens it may be landing as my favorite of all. It's awesome to see an artist getting stronger with each release.

Unlike his friends and tourmates though, Vetiver's music stayed closer to deep-in-the-pocket musicianship… more »
