All Time Classic
I got this when it came out in 1991 on tape - and it was instantly a favorite. FINALLY FOUND Digitally (legally). After Low Profile broke up, WC got Crazy Toones and unknown Coolio to help him put out a collection of hood tales, from all aspects, told over some of the best FUNK you ever heard. Musically, this is Cube's Street Knowledge peak of creativity. This is when hip hop had energy - thick and layered beats with bass and horns and piano. WC throws honesty, humility, bravado, humor, and his swagger all over this. The skits and complex production make the entire LP a joulistenable journey. TRACKS:"Get Up.." or with Lench Mob and MC Eiht for "U Don't Work, U Don't Eat" or goin solo for Tracks like "Out on a Furlough" great story, "Dress Code" about the snobs of the club scene, "Ghetto Seranade" a humbling karma story about a lady, "Fuck My Daddy" a sincere insight into dead beat dads, and hardcore jams like "AADTC" and "BTTUG" solidify WC's position as elder statesmen.
