A true Colossus

FankyMaloon

Incredible rock album, gets better with each listen. Particularly "Brave Beyond the Call" and "John's Dream" have such catchy hooks, it's intensely insane that this band never got as huge as the title of this album. There is _nothing_ being made today that sounds this awesome. Also check out El Producto, their other unassailable 5-star album in my opinion.

I had forgotten how cool this band was!

Incitatus

I'm going to have to track the rest of their catalogue down now...

just great

darnboy

I have the three albums that are not on Emusic, and I now have this album thanks to Emusic. They rock without being noisy, great guitar playing, and generally listening to Walt Mink makes me SMILE. Can't beat that.

branman104

Not as good as El Producto (maybe I just need to let this grow on me a bit) but still very much worthwhile!

yup

vmdigiovanni

probably one of the most important bands of the nineties...you can't go wrong with any of their albulms

Except

Kurzbein

I'd mostly agree with the other review w/ regard to Colossus except that it's missing "Overgrown", which is just about a perfect rock song, and that Colossus doesn't rock as hard as either of the other two.

lost gem

indieana

yeah, a lot of people will tell you El Producto is their masterpiece or that nothing touches Miss Happiness. You should own all three but if you had to pick one (which e-music obviously had to) this is the one. This one shows off everything they can do. They saved the best for last. Enjoy and be bummed that this is the last one.

They Say All Music Guide

Colossus is an album closer in execution to Walt Mink’s debut than any of the ones between it. Energetic and fiery on just about every track with few indications of studio trickery or even a mid-tempo ballad, Colossus just keeps on chugging from start to stop. It’s a refreshing turn from the usual process of “maturity” and ever-growing complexity, but a slight slip in song quality makes it a qualified success. – John Bush
