EMUSIC-027DF64C

Not sure what any of the fuss is , If you like original Blues you can't go wrong with this - It is a great collection of some of the best Blues available, Definitely recommend.

Texas Not So Much

BigD-Bluez

Yeah, OK, so geographically challenged this collection may be but there are a rocking number of really good songs at an excellent price, so relax - recommended.

Dr.Blues

This compilation, although it encompasses some great recordings by great Bluesmen, is quite misleading and makes a mess of the historical, musical, and cultural perspectives on the Blues. Just because an artist may have made the odd recording in Texas, does not make them a part of the Texas style or stream of Blues!!! You simply cannot include artists like Lonnie Johnson or the Mississippi Sheiks, who are strongly identified as Louisianna or Mississippi Bluesmen respectively, in a collection labeled Texas, just because they may have set foot there once? Lonnie Johnson may have accompanied Texas Alexander, but they recorded in New York!
