White Fang, Whatever
2009 | Label: Marriage Records / The Orchard

Portland band White Fang calls their second album "Whatever," and certainly there's a sort of carelessness that permeates the recording. But polish is overrated, isn't it? "Whatever" is sloppy in the best way possible, all noisy feedback and screeching vocals and organized chaos. White Fang has created the perfect soundtrack for trashing your room, for throwing a major fit, for creating mayhem.

FANTASTIC!

One track from this band will bruise your eardrums. I'm going to have wet dreams over what their live sets must sound like. A+

What did you expect out of Portland

jugaluck

Did you expect anything better out of Portland? This album sounds like it was recorded on a cassette tape recorder with a small microphone. I would talk about the "music", but I am not sure that I can make it out.

Whatever indeed

Eireboy

I've got an open mind for listening to most music and there is little I won't listen to. However, I hope to never listen to these guys again. There are glints of possibilities within several of the sound bytes, but I'm not sure if it was the actual song or the sound of silence after I stopped listening. ZERO stars...whatever. (FWIW, their previous release is only marginally better. At least I didn't want to stick sewing needles in my ears after listening to it...whatever, eh?)
