"real Classical music"? Really? Study some music history. Each generation has lambasted the next for their innovation. Read about how Beethoven, Mahler, Wagner, Shostakovich, Stravinsky, Ives, Copland and so many others were received (or more accurately not received) in their day, yet are considered icons of "real classical music" now. I downloaded the free track, listened to it, listened to the samples, downloaded the rest and am sitting here enjoying what I've heard so far while typing this. C'mon up to the 21st century!

What!!? Never heard of evolution then? Would you rather a stagnant backwater or a genre that evolves in new and ever exciting directions, some that work more than others? Time rolls on whether you want to admit it or not....

Acid Rain on the Mirrordome

What part of Classical Style or Chamber Music fit with an ensemble named "American Contemporary Music Ensemble" and a track titled "Acid Rain on the Mirrordome" neither of which seems relevant to either Classical Style or Chamber music. Who is the person who writes these Album descriptions? Or is it to pander to those of us who would prefer real Classical music to much of the rubbish offered nowadays as free daily downloads on this site - including explicit tacks which should not even be on your catalogues.

It's not normally a good sign when a label's masterminds have a hard time articulating its mission, but most labels aren't New Amsterdam: After all, how would you sum up the animating principle behind an output that includes William Britelle's dreamy, prog-rock besotted opus Television Landscape; Matt Marks's Christian-music-and-Bollywood pop fantasia The Little… more »
