Not worth the cost

the_entity

I wouldn't pay much more than 1 dollar for this usually, but I suppose that I felt adventurous, and now I'm left with buyer's remorse, because this album was not worth it. Firstly, I realize that this is not music, and I'm okay with that. I realize that things don't need melody or harmony to be good. However, this has little value. It seems to be that the first three tracks would suffice in delivering whatever its commentary on hip-hop is, and the rest of the album is just extra crap. Still; sometimes, for a brief moment, it sounds like Wobbly is making something worthwhile, and during these sparse moments, the album is almost pleasant. Other than that, it's just noise. The best I can say is that if I had a cross-country bus ride, and had to bring along either this or nothing, I would bring this.

I don't get it

dancehallwraith

I like glitch music, I like the idea of making a glitch rekkid entirely from recordings of commercial hiphop radio, I like the idea of typing out the lyrics to a tune that just go "Yo Yo Yo Yo Yo Yo". But the music itself just feels completely random. I can't find a structure at all, so it just sounds like random clips dropped in a heap with no attempt at arranging them into a piece of music. There's no arc within songs, and although it's mixed into 1 seamless track I can't see an arc over the album either. Disappointing. For imaginative cutup glitch, go for People Like Us instead.
