X-Ray Spex The Anthology
Awesome collection of songs, but neither version of "Oh Bondage!" is the single version (they're two different live versions). That's a big bogus.

"Germfree Adolescents" was one of a handful of classics recorded by the first generation of British punk bands. Poly Styrene's screech is a perfect midpoint between Yoko Ono and Corin Tucker, and her lyrics analyze punk as a reaction/antitode to consumerist addiction with a lot more concision, subtlety, and brains than most Sociology Ph.D.s, let alone 17-year-old Londoners. Combine that with her band's rocket-fuel propulsion, the incongruous-but-perfect sax that made their sound unique, and a recording that actually does them justice and you have the perfect album to play after a terrible day when you want to piss off the neighbors.
