Similar to Russian Circles or a more straight forward These Arms Are Snakes, basically heavy post-hardcore versus something kind of gross like metal: that, of course, depends on what you mean when you say "metal". The songs are brilliantly minimal when needed and the feeling of "tension" and "release" done so well by bands in this vein is present in spades on this release. An "under the radar" brilliant album. Where's a new one and a longer tour?

Now that may not sound appealing at first, but once you listen to "Old Wounds" you'll understand what I mean. These guys get at that odd place of discomfort and keep twisting until suddenly we feel at home there. A Punchy, HUGE sounding post punk classic.
