I'm just here for the Clutch remix (Doin' It Like This). Not saying the rest of it ain't all that, I'm just severely biased. That said, I gotta say I really dig what he did with Clutch's "Profits of Doom" from the "Blast Tyrant" album.
If you like his stuff, he has some great offerings on his website djztrip.com His Obama compilation PRE-ELECTION is one that is of tremendous inspiration IMHO.
Maybe the best "producer compilation” album of the year! The collabos bring out the best in the featured artists while maintaining a cohesive sound throughout the album with Z-trip’s driving, ambitious production. Z-Trip’s hot beats should appeal to underground and mainstream fans alike, if they could get more shine. I'm pissed to find out from another review that the eMusic version is missing 2 tracks. eMusic, please get your shiznit together.
Cette bande originale propose de très bons titres hip hop ("Something Different feat Chali2Na", "Automatic At It feat Aceyalone", "On My Side feat Lateef et Slug", et "Sudden Death feat Dj Faust") et pioche dans le catalogue rock métal pour accompagner quelques Mcs de haute facture. Une approche déjà entendue, qui a connu son heure de gloire ("Judgement Night"), mais qui se révèle toujours efficace lorsqu'elle est réussie. Ainsi, on avoue revenir avec plaisir sur "Let The Rhythm Hit Em 2007" ou Rakim pose sur Chevelle, "Doin'It Like This" sur lequel Z-Trip s'amuse sur Clutch, Dead Prez semble pleinement se satisfaire de Deftones, ou encore "Go Hard" ou The Gift Of Gab ne pouvait pas trouver mieux que Dub Trio pour le mettre en valeur. Dj Z-Trip passe donc l'obstacle sans dommage et se permet même de faire oublier à l'auditeur le concept parfois un peu lourd qui accompagne ce disque. www.bokson.net
there are suppose to be 13 tracks on this album and there are only 11 available. #4 should be "let the rhythm hit em 2007" and #12 should be "Locked and Loaded" Right now "Locked and Loaded" is mislabeled as "Tom Sawyer" which should be the 13th track. Will report problem to customer service
