Alternative country-rock singer/songwriter Kevin Gordon was born and raised in West Monroe, Lousiana, and grew up on a steady diet of the area's indigenous swamp blues, honky tonk and rockabilly. A published poet and graduate of the University of Iowa Writers Workshop, he teamed with producer and E Street Band bassist Garry Tallent to record his debut Illinois 5 a.m., issued in 1997 on the Nashville-based Motherlode label; Down to the Wall followed in mid-2000. Gordon's songs have also been recorded by rockabilly legend Sonny Burgess and All the King's Men, an ad hoc band formed by onetime Elvis Presley sidemen Scotty Moore and D.J. Montana.

Kevin Gordon (born 26 December 1989) is an Australian professional rugby league player for the Gold Coast Titans in the National Rugby League (NRL). He primarily plays on the wing and is considered to be among the fastest players in the NRL.

Playing career

Gordon played his junior rugby league with the Sawtell Panthers.

A member of the inaugural Titan's team in the National Youth Competition (NYC) in 2008, Gordon scored 21 tries in the season. He was named in the inaugural NYC Team of the Year in 2008.

Gordon commenced 2009 playing his second season in the under-20s competition but was selected to make his NRL debut in round 3, playing on the wing against the Bulldogs. He finished the 2009 season as the Titans' top try-scorer with 13 tries.

He began the 2010 season as one of the Titans' first choice winger. Gordon proceeded to play in every single match for the Titans in 2010 and was again the Titans' top try-scorer with 12 tries. He has played all of his NRL matches to date on the wing.

Gordon injured his ACL in Round 2 of the 2011 season against the Melbourne Storm, ruling the promising winger out for the entire 2011 season.

Personal life

Gordon is eligible for selection for several national teams as his Mother was born in the Philippines and his Father is of Scottish descent. His brother Dennis is currently connected to the Titans squad also, he plays for the Burleigh Bears in the QLD Cup.

Representative career

Kevin Gordon has not played any representative matches in his professional career so far. He is eligible to play for New South Wales but has been targeted by Queensland despite not being able to play for them. He is also eligible to play for the representative side NSW Country.
